Working Group on Data Provider Interface

For many potential data sources, manual data entry and editing will still be important. Existing tools for adding and editing footprint data – also known as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data – are generally too difficult and time-consuming to ensure widespread participation in the data supply and editing.

This Working Group has the task to implement, maintain and improve a simple web-interface to reduce the difficulty and time-effort for manual addition of footprint data by volunteers and data editing by domain experts.

The Working Group will initially write the specifications for the desired web interface, covering all data fields and implied interactions, including social media integration, applying experiences from the Wikidata project and from database-improved wiki-applications such as Wagn (wagn.org). Experiences from user feedback on existing LCA database interfaces will be taken into account.

This Working Group is expected to be composed of developers from the existing LCA databases and softwares.
