Working Group on Uncertainty

This Working Group has the task to ensure that uncertainty is correctly captured and propagated throughout the BONSAI database, including model uncertainty and dataset-internal propagation.

An important role of uncertainty information is to enable science-based tools for prioritisation of data collection. The importance of additional data can be assessed by their contribution to reducing the uncertainty of estimates of the total global impact. This assessment will initially be conducted with separate prioritisation of biophysical and socio-economic impacts in order to be useful for different audiences. Based on this continuous assessment of the BONSAI data, a list of known issues and high priority tasks for improvement will be maintained.

This Working Group is expected to be a continuation and expansion of the existing Working Group of the SETAC/UNEP Life Cycle Initiative.
